There are moments when awakening does not arrive as clarity, but as instability. Not as relief, but as dislocation. In the work of Abisay Puentes, that instant does not belong to the realm of superficial psychology, but to a deeper historical, spiritual, and existential experience: that of the human being who begins to see, too late, the full dimension of his own estrangement.

Born in Cuba under a dictatorship that turned confinement into a condition of life, Puentes has developed a symbolic language in which the loss of freedom appears not only as a political fact, but as an inner deformation. Within that universe, Vértigo No. 2 belongs to the series in which consciousness ceases to remain numbed and enters the trembling of revelation. It is not yet rest. It is the disequilibrium produced by truth when it begins to break through.
