There are droughts that do not happen in the earth.
They happen inside us.
Aridez began as a series of portraits, but I was not interested in portraying only a face. I wanted to approach something else:
the portrait of a soul dried out by time after searching too long for a reliable source of water.
It is not always easy to recognize when that drought begins.
Sometimes we keep living, working, speaking, waiting.
But something is slowly being depleted.
And then a question appears that may be more difficult than thirst itself:
What happens when we no longer know where to look for what might sustain us?
Aridez No.5 belongs to that state.
Not the moment when everything has ended.
But the moment when something is still alive, still searching for water.
