Ciudad Máquina No.3

Inspired by a series of poems I titled 'The Parable', each series of my works carries a unique background. In mid-2022, feeling overwhelmed by the perception of society as an immense machinery, and there I was, walking through streets just as one would walk through an industrial city, except in my head, I wasn't in a machine city that produced anything good or useful. That's where 'Machine City' was born. In this series, I reflect the machinery that Adam and Eve built in my parable, a network of structures both oppressive and liberating, capturing the duality of technology and human nature. I explore this complex interaction with dynamic lines and meticulous details in each ink drawing on paper. I invite viewers to ponder our relationship with both the built and natural environments. The series also reflects my work as a composer and my long exploration of the relationship between visual and auditory experience. Each painting remains a complete and autonomous work.
