The landscape around him does not offer shelter. It feels vast, uncertain, and suspended between night, memory, and distance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe man is not simply walking. He is being drawn, carried, and resisted by invisible forces. His body seems small in relation to the weight above him, yet the painting does not present him as completely defeated. There is still movement.
